I would like to apologize to any who had issues with our forum. Two days before Thanksgiving
it was hacked and filled with indecent material. As much as I tried to keep it clean, we were
eventually locked out and were JUST able to have it removed completely. So at this time, there is no forum for Lemuria. It was not for lack of vigilance or caring, but technical issues and companies who always have excuses. Anyone who has had a website knows that this occurs at times. We took all precautions to avoid this but to no avail. The Lemuria Forum has been removed and again apologize to anyone who had issues with it. Thank you!

What does Lemuria Mean??What does Lemuria mean? Basically it means haunting spirits. Ancient Romans believed that after death their souls became spirits. No sane Roman wanted to be haunted, so they held ceremonies to satisfy these spirits. This ceremony was the nine-day Lemuria Festival in May. Instead of being evil spirits, lemures (larvae), where the word Lemuria is derived from, were considered to have been souls that could find no rest because they met with a violent or premature death, were unhappy in life, never realized they had passed on, or felt they had unfinished business in this world. They wandered among the living, haunting those around them and it was believed that some were driven into madness. We at Lemuria Paranormal chose this name in honor of those souls who are still here. And with hope, by acknowleging them, they will be at peace and at last can move on to thier afterlife.
